Treasury Wine Estates Collins Street, by Carr Design

Treasury Wine Estates’ (TWE) new office in Collins Street, Melbourne, brings the company’s consummate hospitality into the workplace. Designed by Carr Design, it is an immersive and emotive space with a tactile, earthy material palette, including Pelle’s Tanzania leather, to evoke the sensory experience of a vineyard.

TWE’s office has formal and informal workspaces and break-out areas, as well as a retail store, barrel room and tasting bar. Carr Design created a moody warmth throughout the space, using natural materials, earthy tones and atmospheric lighting.

The reception is cool and relaxed with a sculptural timber framework across the ceiling and on the wall. It provides a backdrop to Studio Pip’s Carter sofas upholstered in Pelle’s Tanzania leather in Impala. Tanzania is a pure aniline leather produced from South German raw hides. It has a soft waxy finish that gives a raw matt appearance with subtle natural markings and a superb tactile hand. These unique markings and the understated elegance of the leather is accentuated beneath the ambient lighting.

Tanzania leather also upholsters the bench seating throughout the various rooms, bringing a warm caramel hue evocative of the wood of the wine barrels. Conjuring the feeling of a vineyard, it contributes to the sumptuous mood and sensory experience.
